Clubs

Attending a club is always a pleasant way to spend the break time. At SIS-Ruwais, we offer various clubs where our students have the opportunity to further explore and develop their passions and talents.

Music Club

Held during the SLO Period and/or After School for grades 1 and above, the variety of Music Clubs offered gives our students the opportunity to explore their musical talent. Students who take part in any of the music clubs offered have the opportunity to perform and showcase their talent and skills on stage during talent shows, music concerts, events, and various events.

STEAM Clubs

From Robotics, Electronics, 3D printing, to Drone, Calendar, Cubic Root and more, the STEAM clubs aim to empower students through hands-on exploration, creativity, and collaboration. These clubs encourage interdisciplinary learning and foster different skills, including critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation.

Gymnastics Club

Focusing on flexibility, strength, and coordination, the Gymnastics Club offers students a dynamic opportunity to develop physical skills and discipline. Through engaging routines and guided training, participants learn various gymnastic techniques and have the chance to showcase their progress during school events and performances.

Chess Club

Open to students of all levels, the Chess club fosters critical thinking, concentration, and sportsmanship. Through friendly matches and guided instruction, students develop their chess abilities and participate in internal tournaments and competitions.

Art Club

Where do our students go to pursue their passion for art? The Art Club of course. Here, our students can improve their painting and crafting skills while meeting and socializing with students who share the same interests. Available during break time for students in grades 3 to 12, the Art Club students are involved in many school projects and showcase their artwork during the annual art exhibition.

Drama Club

Unleash your creativity and build confidence in the Drama Club. Students explore the art of storytelling through acting, improvisation, and script work. This club provides a platform for students to develop their communication skills, teamwork, and stage presence, culminating in engaging performances for the school community.

LEGO Club

Build, design, and create in the LEGO Club! This hands-on club encourages students to explore their imagination and develop problem-solving skills through the engaging world of LEGO bricks. Students collaborate on projects, tackle building challenges, and foster creativity while having fun.

Business Club

Develop your entrepreneurial spirit and learn the fundamentals of business in the Business Club. Students explore concepts like marketing, finance, and leadership through interactive activities, simulations, and potential participation in business-related competitions. This club fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, preparing students for future success in the world of business.

Arabic Language Club

Immerse yourself in the beauty and richness of the Arabic language and culture in the Arabic Language Club. Through engaging activities, discussions, and cultural explorations, students enhance their language skills, deepen their understanding of Arabic heritage, and foster a love for the language. This club provides a supportive environment for students to improve their fluency and cultural awareness.

U.A.E. Heritage Club

Celebrate and explore the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the United Arab Emirates in the U.A.E. Heritage Club. Students delve into the history, customs, and arts of the U.A.E. through interactive activities, cultural presentations, and potential field trips. This club fosters a sense of national pride and deepens students' understanding of the unique cultural identity of the U.A.E.

Sports Clubs

Develop your athletic skills and foster a passion for teamwork through our diverse range of Sports Clubs. From football and basketball to athletics, badminton, volleyball, and swimming, students of all skill levels can participate. These clubs promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and camaraderie, providing opportunities for students to train, compete, and represent the school in various sporting events.

Sports Tournaments

SABIS® sports tournaments provide a platform for students to showcase their athletic prowess and sportsmanship across a variety of disciplines. These highly anticipated events feature thrilling competitions in football, where teams demonstrate strategic teamwork and skillful play; basketball, showcasing fast-paced action and dynamic maneuvers; volleyball, highlighting precision and coordinated effort; athletics, testing individual speed, strength, and endurance in track and field events; and swimming, where students compete in various strokes and distances. These tournaments foster a spirit of healthy competition, teamwork, and personal growth, creating memorable experiences for all participants.  

Events and Activities

SABIS® International School – Ruwais offers a vibrant calendar of activities and events designed to enrich student life beyond the classroom. Our Student Life Organization (SLO) runs numerous campaigns promoting well-being, academic excellence, kindness, and bullying prevention, fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

The arts flourish through captivating music concerts, dramatic performances at Drama Nights, and multifaceted Performing Arts Nights, showcasing the diverse talents of our students. The annual Talent Show provides a platform for individual expression, while Arabic Language Evenings celebrate cultural heritage through language and performance. Art Exhibitions display the creativity of our visual artists, and Gymnastics Shows demonstrate the dedication and skill of our gymnasts.

In addition, our commitment to holistic development extends to sports, community engagement, and enriching educational experiences. Sports Days are filled with energy and friendly competition, fostering teamwork and physical fitness. Beyond these events, we offer a wide range of after-school and weekend activities, ensuring that students have opportunities to explore their interests and passions.

Furthermore, our Grades 7 to 12 students participate in carefully curated school trips, designed to enhance their learning beyond the classroom. These excursions provide valuable opportunities for cultural immersion, historical exploration, and academic enrichment, complementing their studies and broadening their perspectives. These activities and trips are designed to create a dynamic and engaging school community, where students can develop their skills, build lasting friendships, and create memorable experiences. We believe in providing a well-rounded education that nurtures both academic and personal growth.
